lotsa motsa hot pots

I have been tubing up Diamond Fork Canyon many a times but little did I know that in the summertime that canyon holds other joys than great hills, Thursday night I discovered the hot pots tucked up in the mountains. It was decided we were going to make the adventure even though it had rained all day so we got all geared up and ready to go...

starting the hike (which by the way turned out to be a lot longer of a hike than I was expecting, like over 2 miles). but I must say I am definately a fan after my first night hike. I loved hiking by moonlight and flashlight.

Excitement and relief builds when the air starts to smell of rotting eggs/sulfur, you're getting closer to the pots. Our group was lucky not only in the sense that we didn't run into any nudists but also that we got one of the top hot pots to ourselves, which also happened to be by a waterfall.

(did I mention that the water from the waterfall was FREEZING cold?? because it was!)

It was so much fun! after we all froze to death playing in the waterfall we huddled together in the hot pot and played games and listened to Jason tell "scary stories" before making the adventure back down the mountain.

brookie and I found some souveniors...

Got real nervous thinking I'd broken my camera when it got a little steamed up, don't you worry it cleared right up on the hike down

Lessons learned from this adventure:
#1. Don't hike in Rain boots for over 5 miles.

#2. Don't wear white shorts to the hot pots
