CC

greetings from Cedar City.
School is back in which means my senior year of college has officially started. crazy I'm so old I know.
The first week has been tough-but that's nursing school for ya, however I'm way more excited for this semester seeing as how it's the mother baby and pediatrics semester oh and not to mention claimed much less stress than last semester. I start clinicals on Sept 20th at the Dixie NICU, exciting.
Roommates I mean roommate is great : ) I'm living with Mindy and Sydney and I'll let you figure out which one is great. jk. we've just had a little bit of clashing of personality seeing as how she's high maintenance and I'm not. 45 minutes in the bathroom for makeup?? yeah I don't think it's neccessary either.
I love my place this year. I'm living in a duplex on the northern end of town, so it's a little farther from campus but it's So nice and I love it. We're surrounded by families and some students but I feel like such a grown up. My room is smaller but other than that I love everything about it. mental noted to post pictures soon once I get some taken with the decorations.
scattered thoughts for the day? perhaps. but it's been an eventful week here in the CC. I'm exhausted, and not wanting to do homework. Point it: last year of college has come in with a bang.

I'm SOOOOO excited to go home for labor day this weekend. can't wait to play!!

.true.love.

Would I sound like a vain, obsessive, protective, and shallow Man if I said that I have a deep love for a vehicle?? cause I do.

I LOVE this 4Runner, with a love that only Jeni could understand : ) so many good times and memories in this thing! it's a hot truck and not to mention fast. I miss riding around in it all the time.

elder cw

guess who's home from a 2 year journey....
Elder Cole Warburton!

I first met Cole YEARS ago, back in the day when we were young kiddos running around Helper Ut. We were in the same ward and our family's became good friends. The Warburton family has always been talented in the sporting area so when Cole's sisters would have an away game and their mom was the coach we got to "babysit" Cole and he would come hang out at our house. My favorite memory of this was when Cole was showing Channy and me his Tango skills and would switch off partners as we danced around our bedroom. cute right? our friendship didn't stop there, from night games with the neighbors, comparing who got the worst allergies from hiding in the pastures, mutual activities making fun of Michael Mastin and hiding from him, "kiss this goodbye" serenades with the three of us in my dad's car, skipping seminary in 9th grade to go play with him in PE, playing pepper/warming up with me before a volleyball game and trust me he don't hold nothing back, walking home after school when I missed the bus, and most recently getting to write him while he's been on his mission in Florida. He's such a great guy and I'm so proud of him for going and serving faithfully, welcome home Cole!
We had the opportunity to go down to Helper this past Sunday to hear him talk and it was so great. he did well on his talk and we got to see some old friends and visit the ward and building that I grew up in. Crazy how things change and people grow up. I feel old. But it was great to see everyone again.

this is one of my favorite pictures from the day, check out those facial expressions! priceless.

love this kid!

final countdown.

2 1/2 days until I'll be living back in the cedar city. Mixed feelings. I didn't want this summer to happen because I knew it was going to be a rough summer for all of us and I found myself wishing away a summer before it ever happened-stupid i know because summer is the greatest! which despite the hard times this summer has still turned out to be awesome and I've loved every minute of it(okay maybe not every minute of work but pretty close!). and now I find myself once again sad to leave having gotten attached to being here for the summer-yet anxious to get back to school and see friends again. torn, part of the joys of having chosen to go away from home for school.

This was a different kind of summer for me and so therefore I'm going to miss some different and possibly unusual things once I move back on Friday:
-getting up in the late night/early morning hours with Kezzy
-Having Kez to myself all day Wednesdays and getting to play mommy
-"pillow talking" with Ash
-family events big or small(did I mention that I'll be the only one not living at my parents come fall, therefore the only one missing out on things. bummer)
-massage time
-Adventures with Jeni without having to travel so far : )
-Tuesday dates with Candice
-treats, drives, hangouts, and talks with Kobe
-Crest drinks with Ash
-worldword: with dog, and duck, and pig, and sheep, and bear, and frog there's always a surprise!!
-sunday dinners
-bathtime with Kez
-"PAT!!! PAT!!! please come help me, please, please!!"
-sleeping with Reina, and having her as a personal door greeter every time I come home
-DVR nights with Ash: bachelorette, secret life, Y&R, and portions of son in law
-My parents being just a walk around the block away
-grocery shopping with Ash and Mom
-being in the same town as J.Pate for a portion of the summer for the first time in years
-Max and J.Love
-late night dinners saved for me
-grandpa Fife and sneaking in the front door
-many many more....etc...etc...

thanks for the great summer ya'll.

cheers to senior year of college. here I come

all about the baby...

happy 1st birthday(on august 4th) to the cutest niece in the world!!!

I can't believe Kezzy girl is already one years old, so crazy! She has blessed our family's life so much this past year and is one that tends to bring a smile to all our faces. She may reek of spoilage but what do you expect when it's the first and only grandchild : ) Probably also the reason as to why she's probably the the most photographed baby, that and she's so stinkin cute!!

Having been living with my sister the past few months and helping out with Kezzy now and before then I've gotten to know her and see her in a different way than just being an aunt normally would. She's one I peak in way too often on to watch her sleep, and will lay awake after feeding her in the middle of the night listening to the monitor to make sure she's still breathing. She can make any day better just by looking at her and she's the one person who has helped me realize that no matter how bad I diss marriage having a family one day is the thing I want the most, and the person who makes me feel like I won't fail too horribly at it like I see myself doing. I'm so grateful to be your summer roomie and to see you everyday. Happy be-lated birthday baby girl. Thanks for being the one person who sees the good in all of us and helps us to be that way. I love you.

just a memory

Just a memory??? I think not.

Memories. home, friends, family, former friends, hometowns, ex-boyfriends, hairstyles, college, jobs, vacations, crushes, road trips, and everyday life. I love it all. The memories we have, both the good and the bad, tells our story and all fit into this big picture that defines YOU.

it's funny though how all it takes in life is a change. A move, breakup, new step/path in life, or a new job. Leaving something behind while looking forward to something new. Change is good, but change is also hard. The important thing to realize above all is people change. So one day you may be the best of friends talking everyday and before you know it you haven't spoken to them in days, weeks, months, or even years as you begin wondering to yourself, "How in the world did this happen?"

Life keeps moving, we keep moving. But memories stand still, and each day we create new ones. until one day, when we're old and wrinkled, we smile and look back at our lives through photographs and/or journals and say, "wow. i had such a good life. I am so blessed."

just remember when you're down, sick, depressed, alone, or struggling with something, anything there is always someone who has it worse than you do, because it could always be worse. However someone out there may even be struggling and suffering with the same things that you are.

Life is ever evolving so be grateful for who you are, where you are, what you're doing and who you're with.

life is beautiful. it really is. change is a good thing. it really is.
