Shoutout to Channy

My little sister is 19 today!! holy cow that makes me feel so old to say that but it really is so crazy how time flies and how fast she is growing up. Even though today's her birthday, we celebrated her birthday two weeks early, while both of us were home for a weekend, and she chose to go to Macaroni Grill for her birthday dinner. Personally, I love macaroni grill for the idea of being able to color on the tablecloths, but when it comes to food I would eat at Olive garden over it anyday. Don't get me wrong though, it was still delicious and like usual I had a blast being around and hanging out with my family!

Happy Birthday Sis!! I love you!!

This week

Is absolutely crazy!! my excitement for Halloween arriving on Friday has been totally diminished by the fact that my professors love to pick on me and have all decided to pack a whole bunch of things into the next 4 days (work things also play a part in the craziness as well). Here are some of the things I have to do this week:
Paper due tomorrow morning(yeah haven't started that yet), huge chem test thursday afternoon, stats homework due thursday as well as a quiz on the same day, Make up the MAR's for next month, finish all "month end closing" matters of business at work, go to the gym(I've been slacking), prepare for my sisters visit this weekend, and finish assembling my amazing costume for the howl.

okay so when it's all wrote out like that it really doesn't look all that bad, but still I'm feelin super overwhelmed and I'll be so grateful when the weekend finally gets here.

I want!

So I had never seen these purses before until I went home last weekend and then I started seeing them everywhere and I immediately fell in love with them and now I am determined to get one. I searched at a couple stores while I still home, but had no success so now I've turned to the amazing internet. These are two styles that I've found and they are surprisingly a lot cheaper than I expected so I am even more excited! Now I just need to decide between the two styles.

Gardner Village...

Last Monday Ash and I went up to Gardner village, up in Midvale. For those of you who have never been there it's actually a really neat place. It's all these little shops with everything from shoes, clothes, to themed decorations for holidays. I first went to Gardner village last Christmas with my family and loved it. The village decorates according to the holiday/season and this month was the witch festival. There were witches everywhere, doing all sorts of different things, like playing baseball, riding bicycles in the air, and my personal favorite: hula hooping! Anyways, here are a couple pictures from our adventures that day hanging out with the witches.

Temple Trip

Slightly late in posting but on Wednesday I went to the St. George temple for the first time to do baptisms with my ward relief society. It was not only my first time in the St. George temple but my first time being back in a temple in a really long time. For personal reasons I haven't been able to go for a couple of years and it felt so good to be back, and to do the awesome and and amazing work that we have the opportunity to do in the temple. As a relief society we're going to start going down once a month and I'm so excited. Yay for temples!!

Love these girls!! Candice, Brook, and Amanda

Post baptisms

After the temple we decided to treat ourselves to an amazing dinner of Olive Garden. It was so good! By the time we got there we were starving and as soon as our waitress set the breadsticks on the table we had them devoured in seconds. Don't mess with us girls and our food when we get hungry.

Accident Prone

So today at work my supervisor and I decided to start tackling the mess in our medroom to get ready for our corporate nurse to come to our facility in a couple weeks. Part of this entitles wasting meds which are PRN's and not been used in the past 60 days, any expired or discontinued meds. Since we had a resident pass away recently we had a lot of meds to waste. It turned into about a 3 hour ordeal and right in the middle of it I got a huge paper cut from one of the bubble packs right under the finger nail on my right thumb. killer kind of paper cuts and quite possibly the worst ever! not wanting to take the time to bandage myself up, I put a glove over it and continued on with what I was doing. Finally we were close to being finished so I took some time to clean up my wound that was surprisingly bleeding more than a normal papercut. Right after I put bandaides on I reached into my pocket and slice! yet another papercut on my right hand pointer finger, under the fingernail again. I couldn't believe it! two under the fingernail papercuts in the same day right next to each other. Pretty ridiculous and it just proves how accident prone I can be.

I did it!

About a week ago, on Monday, I signed up and got a gym pass at golds. I have debating and putting it off for a really long time now, mostly because I have really hated working out and when I get tired I give up really easy so I didn't want to pay monthly for something that I would probably never go to or would go and hate. However, I decided to finally do it for these reasons:
1) I want to be healthier: I have more health problems than your average 20 year old, and I think if I start taking exercising seriously I might not clear up my problems but help me endure them better by feeling better.
2)Prepare for the future: When I look at my residents at work and see that our 103 year old resident is healthier than half our residents in the building it has inspired me to stay going strong for as long as I can, and I believe that exercising will help prolong my life in a healthier way. Also, to be ready for things like pregnancy (in the far future) to be a healthy mom one day and have a better pregnancy.
3)Stress relief: my life these days are super crazy and some days I don't know if I'm coming or going and as a result I don't get much sleep because I'm not only going all day long but when it comes time to go to bed I still have all the stress build up and will usually lay awake worrying about tomorrow and going over the day. By exercising I can relieve my stress(as well as get super exhausted) in a healthy way.
4) Help me eat better: I am probably one of the biggest costumers in the fast food business as well as eating anything easy and fast even if it's just wheat thins and string cheese. Obviously not a great idea. But from the past I've learned that on days when I do physical activity it makes me want to eat better and find foods that will benefit and be good for me.
Well those are pretty much the only reasons I have for joining but a lot of it has to do with my roommate Candice. She is so awesome about going all the time and will be a huge motivator to get me to go and to do worthwhile things while I'm there. In fact we both went today and had a personal training consult session. It was such a hard workout but it felt awesome ( and it didn't hurt that the personal trainer was gorgeous!) granted I'm probably going to have a hard time walking tomorrow, and will hurt like crazy when I laugh but it helped me feel better.

A little Pre-Halloween

Ash and I are both obsessed with taking pictures so after Red Robin and while the boys were still at priesthood session we came home to find mom's Halloween boxes out. Finding an opportunity to take pictures we immediately started to dig through and find the most obnoxious things we could find to assemble outfits. Some of the things have been there for a while and it was fun to see things that we used to be able to fit in back in the day.

Eventually mom got into with us when she found an old milk maid dress from Grandma and an old man mask. Then the idea came to mind that we should scare the boys when they came home. They usually go out for treats afterwards but this time they were all going to a man's house in my parents ward for homemade treats. We finally convinced our mom to come with us and we all dressed up in creepy outfits and walked around the neighborhood to the man's house to find the boys. They saw us and recognized the costumes, but we were able to get two others pretty good who had no idea who we were.

It was a lot of fun and got me even more excited to dress up and celebrate halloween, even though it's still a couple weeks away.

Conference Weekend

I'm sure I've mentioned this many times before but i love going home! I love just being in Provo and being close to those that I love and care about the most. This semester is pretty crazy so I wasn't planning on going home much but at last moment I requested the first weekend of October off work and went home. My bioorganic chem lab goes until five on Fridays so I was little late than normal hitting the road, and if it wasn't for my sister and her friend Adaiza riding with me I wouldn't have left that late because I hate driving in the dark due to a huge fear of my car breaking down in the middle of no where and what's worse than being stranded would be being stranded in the dark. Anyways, we made the trip and after saying hello to the family real quick I headed over to Yoasis(which is a delicious real frozen yogurt place inside the hogi yogi. The yogurt itself is good but even better with their delicious toppings from real fruit-granola, and vanilla wafers). I met up with Jenny and we downed ours before Jess, Danny and her family even showed up. It was sooo good to see them again! I love those girls so much and it's always nice to be able to spend time with them.

Of course ours was massive and loaded with toppings

The rest of the weekend pretty much consumed of hanging out with my family and watching conference. It was crazy to think that not only was this the first time in a long time that I got to watch all four sessions of conference, but it's been even longer since I got to watch it at home with the Fam. Conference was amazing!! I abosolutely love the men and women that lead our church. They always bring such great messages of peace and hope in these days of evil and hard times. I just wish we could have conference once a week because it's such an upliftment for me. My particular favorite talks this conference were those that focused on simplifying our lives, of living life for today instead of procrastinating until tomorrow, of having faith not fear, believing in ourselves, and reacting to others in a christ-like manner. These were most likely my favorite because these are all things I need to work on : )
While the boys went to priesthood session saturday night and channy went to a bridal shower, mom, ash, and me went to the D.I where they helped me pick out things for my sweet halloween costume, then we headed over to Red Robin to have dinner. I love food there's no question there but Red Robin definately is on my favorite list of places to eat. It's Delicous!

Right after mom dropped fry sauce in her drink and stirred it up
My little brother is doing a project for Biology and along with it he's supposed to collect bugs and all sorts of other insects. So he starts showing me what he has collected so far and when he pulled out a trantula it was the last thing I was expecting. It was huge and so gross looking that I couldn't help but take a picture, it's dead of course but I can still say I've held a trantula. Who knew we had such creatures creeping around Provo.

Some photos during Sunday's conference:

Capturing these two on camera, actually looking is a rare occasion

It was such an amaing weekend and like usual I was not ready and not willing to return to Cedar Sunday night, but we loaded up all our stuff and made the long trip back. Of course stopping in Fillmore for a potty break, and couldn't help but find a photo op : )
