ro-day-oh

another rodeo down this summer. My friday (clear back on july 15th) started with a phonecall from channy, I had worked the night before hence why I was still sleeping, anywho she asked if I wanted to rodeo and I said of course. she got the tickets and that night we found ourselves at the Ute stampede! I went last year with Jeni and I was not overly impressed but this year the cowboys did much better and I loved it! We sat with our friends the callahans, Linds is from Nephi and it's tradition to go every year. We got lucky in the fact that the Hunters, Tonya's also from Nephi, were at the rodeo so we got to see them as well. It was really fun to see all the kids we used to babysit back in Helper, and it was good to see Hunters again because I haven't seen them since I moved from Cedar, back when they used to save my life all the time. seriously though I owe them! (chad I still haven't forgotten when I find my Texas man you get hunting rights on his family property!)

nothin like a good handlebar moustache : )

cowboy coop.

coming back from the coin dig! the triplets all did it with the kids then they announced 18 and older woman and you guessed it channy and I totally did it! although the pic is on linds phone so I didn't get one of us, but I did get 1.50 out of it.
can't believe we used to babysit these kids, brock is taller than me and katelin looks older than I do.
heading home. Nephi was REAL good to us.
I love seeing old friends again. Thanks for the party guys, and channy thanks for being such a great rodeo buddy. long live cowboys!!!

reason.season. lifetime.

people change, life moves on. Never been a fan of losing people I'm attached to but I've lost a couple a few months back. people claim to be some one's best friend but have no idea how to treat them, and suddenly selfishness is the only thing that matters. That brought out the lovely characteristics of jealously, and envy along with lying. sounds healthy relationship to me! but it's exhausting and people can only handle so much mistreatment, especially in stressful times of their lives. But I'll be honest memories are everywhere and can't help but remind ya of how you really used to have the best of times. during this time I heard the statement that "they don't just cut people out of their lives". sounds so easy doesn't it? just one little snip and bam it's all over with. truth is, it's a lot harder than it sounds. and I think that the cutting is being done with a dull knife or scissors(whichever you prefer) because for some reason it just has to keep continuing all these months later. I wish it would have been a nice clean cut, with the edges of the wound well approximated : )
I heard something recently and with my love of quotes it's stuck with me on the bad days to remind me it's just how life goes! it goes a lil somethin like this...
some people come into our lives for a reason, some for a season, and some for a lifetime.
not sure if I got it right word for word but gets the point across. I've always been a believer that people come into your life for a reason but I love that it's okay and normal that some don't stick around for a lifetime. So I'll work on stop being so butt hurt and stubborn myself and realize I'm a lucky lil lady for the friends I do have. their the best. and the others, well I hope for your sake you grow up someday.

happy summer.

I love summer!! it's always been my favorite season, it always seems like the fun is limitless in the summer and these days I work hard, and play even harder. Some of my adventures lately consist of...
hanging out with Jeni, including walking the entire provo canyon : )

saying goodbye to our good friend Dustin! we met dustin 2 years ago during our awesome summer of '09 and now he's in Haiti for the summer and then moving off to DC to go find a job and try to be a grown up in the political world. we're missin him already!
enjoying a bahama mama from my favorite snow cone place, summer sno.
A surprise cake fight with these ladies at sugarhouse park!

Pool day and weiner roast at Vantana. our sweet 3 person tower : )

Celebrating the 4th of July of course! Celebrated work free and had sorts of festivities: balloon fest with brookie, stadium of fire watching the amazing Brad Paisley with the fam, picnic and longboarding up provo Canyon, and firework sessions with the neighbors and fam.

amazing pedicures with these amazing ladies. I have found my new favorite pedicure place!

Concert at Muse Music watching some real talent, mostly included people from Cedar City such as Hayley McClellan and Lance Lowry(the boy whose life we "saved" back in Cedar months ago with the rare heart condition laying on the side of the road), and of course my favorite of the evening J.Wride.

I'm so lucky to be living close to my amazing family and awesome friends!! long live summer, and long live my good times. many more to come!!

employment.

I have a job : )
I've been employed for two weeks now! It was 2 weeks ago exactly when after an extremely frustrating and depressing week I was talking to my mom Sunday night after family dinner and she told me that I needed to make a list of everything I was unhappy about and wanted different in my life. My mom is known for phrases and sayings that stick with you such as "Go up Big", and "we are not afraid of hard", etc... well that night she told me if you don't like it, fix it!
So I came home and pulled out a notecard and wrote down unemployment status as #1 on my list. Within 5 minutes I got a phonecall from Candice saying I needed to call Christina, another girl/friend she works with right away! she said that I might have a job. So out of curiosity I called Christina and in a long story short way she pretty much said congratulations you're hired! She told me that her boss, Kerrie, had told her to have me come in Monday to fill out paperwork and drug test. I was in such confusion and shock that I burst into uncontrollable laughter, I think it was my way of relieving all the built up stress. Anywho I finally got control of myself, got some sleep and showed up to the facility the following morning. I met Kerrie who took me on a tour of the building, including stopping by the nurses station to say hello to candice, and all throughout the tour she was introducing me as an interviewee for an RN position. Really confused but excited and nervous I continued answering her almost interview questions as we walked. When we got in the elevator she told me that she liked what she had seen, heard, and had gotten really good things said about me from Candice and Christina along with my references and that if I wanted the position we could head downstairs and start paperwork. So that's how it happened, overnight!! Within 24 hours I suddenly was employed and within 48 hours I was thrown back into the working world working 3 12 hour+ day shifts, training. I trained 2 nights this past week then had a day off before working another day shift, my first shift as an RN without training and let's just say it was scary day!!! Crazy day and I ended up being there for 15 hours, and did I mention no lunch break?? Thank goodness Candice was working the other floor and could come help me because I would have literally killed over and died. Let's just say that it's been really stressful and really interesting being a nurse. I still feel like a student, especially when I was training/orientating. But as stressful as it is, it's nice to be working again and I can't wait for the paycheck : ) I've been exahusted for 2 weeks and the majority of the time I've been sleeping while everyone else was up and working while everyone else was sleeping but I can't wait to get feeling more comfortable as a nurse and continue to learn more. Working world I am back!!!!!

twenty four

Happy Be-lated birthday post to my dear and best friend Candice woods or as she may also be known as: Candy@ss, Candy, Duwayna, w.woman, lil sweetheart, nursey nurse, lil sweetheart, and Candydice. Happy 24th to someone who I think the world of and who is one of the greatest people I know. Thanks for always being such a great friend lady, for being thoughtful and of course always making me laugh. We've had so many adventures and memories over the past 4 years and crazy to think that we first met working at the EP while you were training me and we were bonding over the brandon's we were dating, then we started our 2 year roommate stretch, meanwhile I watched you go through nursing school and then graduate and join the working world. Can't wait to continue our adventures and craziness and see where our lives take us next.
in honor of the birthday girl we had dinner at Olive Garden the night before with the ladies, a pool party all day Saturday at Dani's parents awesome backyard, and then cowgirled up for the Lehi Roundup rodeo that night. It was a partaaay weekend!

Love you with every atria and ventricle in my heart lady! love,Paco the indian : )
