employment.

I have a job : )
I've been employed for two weeks now! It was 2 weeks ago exactly when after an extremely frustrating and depressing week I was talking to my mom Sunday night after family dinner and she told me that I needed to make a list of everything I was unhappy about and wanted different in my life. My mom is known for phrases and sayings that stick with you such as "Go up Big", and "we are not afraid of hard", etc... well that night she told me if you don't like it, fix it!
So I came home and pulled out a notecard and wrote down unemployment status as #1 on my list. Within 5 minutes I got a phonecall from Candice saying I needed to call Christina, another girl/friend she works with right away! she said that I might have a job. So out of curiosity I called Christina and in a long story short way she pretty much said congratulations you're hired! She told me that her boss, Kerrie, had told her to have me come in Monday to fill out paperwork and drug test. I was in such confusion and shock that I burst into uncontrollable laughter, I think it was my way of relieving all the built up stress. Anywho I finally got control of myself, got some sleep and showed up to the facility the following morning. I met Kerrie who took me on a tour of the building, including stopping by the nurses station to say hello to candice, and all throughout the tour she was introducing me as an interviewee for an RN position. Really confused but excited and nervous I continued answering her almost interview questions as we walked. When we got in the elevator she told me that she liked what she had seen, heard, and had gotten really good things said about me from Candice and Christina along with my references and that if I wanted the position we could head downstairs and start paperwork. So that's how it happened, overnight!! Within 24 hours I suddenly was employed and within 48 hours I was thrown back into the working world working 3 12 hour+ day shifts, training. I trained 2 nights this past week then had a day off before working another day shift, my first shift as an RN without training and let's just say it was scary day!!! Crazy day and I ended up being there for 15 hours, and did I mention no lunch break?? Thank goodness Candice was working the other floor and could come help me because I would have literally killed over and died. Let's just say that it's been really stressful and really interesting being a nurse. I still feel like a student, especially when I was training/orientating. But as stressful as it is, it's nice to be working again and I can't wait for the paycheck : ) I've been exahusted for 2 weeks and the majority of the time I've been sleeping while everyone else was up and working while everyone else was sleeping but I can't wait to get feeling more comfortable as a nurse and continue to learn more. Working world I am back!!!!!
