I was bored at work last night and this is what I was thinking about...
you might be a health care worker if:
-you refer to 4-6 hours of sleep a good nights rest
-you get excited over things like needles, and stitches. not to mention new supplies or medical pens.
-you teach and educate your patients about health benefits of exercise all the while sitting there inside cussing out how bad you hate running.
-you consume caffeine more than water
-you never wear fingernail polish, or acrylic nails and as soon as your nail barely grows you cut it right back down again.
-you consider Avguard and gloves to be of the gods
-scrubs are considered as an everyday outfit apparel for you
-you find yourself finding humor in the smallest things some days just to get you through your shift
-you know what it's like to get yelled at, screamed at, hit, punched, or kicked and not be able to say anything or do anything back.
-you smile inside and out when an elderly man or woman calls you beautiful/handsome. you know with how blunt they are that they really mean it. On the reverse side you grin and grumble at yourself in the mirror when they ask if you did your hair that day or if you checked your make up before you left your house : )
-you'd rather study pharmacology or chemistry than go on a date
-any personal or private part on someone else becomes as if it were an elbow. no big deal, just another day on the job!
-you are uncomfortable with free time and days off because you rarely see them so you don't know quite what to do with them.
-no matter how good of body mechanics you use at work, you still come home from wishing you had a personal massage therapist.
-you sometimes forget what fresh air and sunshine is like after being indoors with fluorescent lighting.
and last but certainly not least... in honor of this big holiday weekend,
-you never get used to missing out on all the festivities with all the holidays and weekends you have to work.
gotta love us : ) cheers to saving lives!!
