Channy

what does it feel like to have your little sister turn 21?? old. that's what it feels like!! but enough about me and my old age....Channy turned 21 on the 29th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY SIS!!!

Channy and I have often been mistaken as twins due to our closeness in age and due to that closeness in age we've always been close at heart. Although we do have our differences and here are just a of channy's traits that I admire...

Her sense of fun and adventure!! it's contagious and infectious. Her way of calming me down when I'm really stressed reminding me what really matters in life and to not sweat the small stuff... for example last semester when I was doing my 2 a days clinicals down in Dixie and the night before I'd be a nervous wreck worrying about the day(or days) ahead of me and she'd calm me down and talk me through it until I to believed it for the night that it was not a big deal.

She makes everything a celebration. which I love, because I too like to make a big deal out of everything only she does it in a way that makes you feel special and that she only does it for you, not everyone else : )

Her writing. seriously I wish I could write the way she does, and the way she does her journal entries are so cool, and so interesting to hear her read(don't worry she's willingly shared, I'm not a snoop) that it'll be something she'll treasure forever.

Her photo documenting skills of every activity. She's an Olsen girl and that's an inherited trait.

Her love of Grey's Anatomy. (Best Show Ever!)

She sets her mind on something and goes for it. She's traveled more and seen more of the country and world than I have and I admire her for it.

there are many more, trust me she's amazing!! I love you channy! happy legality, and can't wait to really celebrate!

Happy Birthday Twin. Next year you buy ; ) LOVE YOU!

mindaaay

Mindaaay. young lady. ya ol' gal. mid-day. Mindy. celebrated her 22nd birthday last week. so this is my Happy Birthday Best Friend Be-Lated Post!!
To Mindy: Thanks for sharing all your amazing talents with me such as cake decorating, baking/cooking(feeding me delicious things ALL the time), and most recently...hat creating : )

You have a way of making people feel important and special, you're friends with everyone and face it you are hilarious!! I love the way that we are the same in needing a plan for life but even more love our random spontaneous side that comes out every once in a while. You have the same love of cowboys and country life as I do and I love that we appreciate it, and yearn for it. You have a SUPERB taste in music, and thanks for always giving me the hook-ups. You love diet coke so that automatically means you've got great character. You are an amazing auntie and will be an excellent mom someday!

Thanks for being such a great friend to me all these years and for all the adventures we've had and the many more to come! I love you so much lady!!!

in honor of the first time we celebrated your birthday together : )

dear husband

dear future husband,
I can't wait to be the couple that everyone envies because we're just that cute together, two goofy adorable peas in a pod! I can't wait to see how goofy you are(because to keep up with me ya just gotta be), and the funny pictures we'll take together. Speaking of pictures I'm excited to be married to someone who will let me take as many pictures as I want without whining or complaining. I look forward to your creative input seeing as how you'll be contributing to these photo shoots too. Forgive me now for all the burnt attempts, fast food runs, and cold cereal meals I don't see my cooking improving. I know we're both super busy now but I can't wait to travel the world with you! There are so many places I wanna see and things I wanna do outside of Utah, and our road trips and cross country motorcycle drives to get there are gonna be movie worthy I'm sure. Some information you may find comes in handy some days is that gerber daises are my favorite flower, and I love chocolate and ice cream. Can I please drink a diet coke every now and then?? by the time we meet I plan on having quit the addiction but please have patience with me. Our house be the place where even our single friends love to hang out and be but can we do some serious blind date paybacks on some poor innocent people? I'd enjoy that. Sure I'll let you borrow my truck sometimes : ) Your humor, and spontaneity, and need for thrill and adventure are much appreciated. Thanks for keeping life exciting and me on my toes. I'm a kid at heart and will probably never fully mature, thanks for accepting that. When I get fat please don't word it that way, instead just mention that we should run a race... I'll pick up the hint and will get right to work! Understand now that we're dressing up every year for Halloween no matter how old we are. You're going to be the best and cutest daddy and you better still love me when I'm a really ornery pregnant lady! There are many more things I'd like to say to you but for now we'll leave it at that. I sure hope you know what you're getting yourself into with this crazy ol' gal : ) Can't wait to grow old with you.
Until we meet,
Love Future Wifey

festive fall fun

I hate the cold. so naturally I've been trying to get into the "Fall" spirit lately by finding things to enjoy instead of gripping about the weather(okay I'll always complain when it's cold but just not as much).

Last Sunday Mindy and I made homemade caramel apples. didn't stop there. We made homemade caramel apples dipped in white chocolate and then sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. They were divine and let's just say we'd give Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory a good run for their money!

Football season. now there's one I don't need to be talked in to!! been to 2 games so far... Go Tbirds!

Thoroughly loved seeing all the hunters orange and camo flocking around town. Tis the season for the deer hunt. (still slightly bitter we didn't get fall break this year but dealing with it!)

Pumpkin flavors. Got coffee free caramel latte's from Starbucks Friday, with an added spice of pumpkin in it. I love pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and luckily enough my mom sent me some homemade ones in my package-loved them mom! Also the DQ pumpkin pie blizzard is pretty delicious as well. bring on the fall foods at least!!

Tonight I carved my pumpkin! (2nd one to ever carve alone without dad's help haha) they as in Melissa's and mine turned out so awesome I must show them off....

okay so maybe I haven't done as much as I thought I had but still I've made somewhat of an effort to embrace the change of season. These are just the most enjoyable ones worth mentioning

just what I needed

ever have those awful weeks where everything piles up in an overwhelming way to the point where you feel everything is going wrong and you're drowning in a puddle that's getting bigger and bigger and though it may not look like a big deal from the outside, on the inside it's inescapable?? This describes my feelings the past week and a half. Therefore I must acknowledge the things that have taken place that got me through this past while and was in a huge way just what I needed : ) listed in no particular order.....

-Running into Donna Ray Sanders at Lynn's grocery store parking lot after buying soup for my somewhat illness.

-phone call from my momma when she could tell I needed her encouragement and comfort

-an overnight visit from Ash and Kezzy girl. So good to see you guys and even though it was raining and bad weather the whole time, being the 3 of us brought me back to the goodness of summertime.

-Brad's diet cherry lemon coke and a great drive this afternoon

-an 81% on my Maternal Newborn ATI

-Dinner with my girls. I love you Cyndi, Melissa, and Jess. Thanks for the talks, and the tears : )

- Grey's anatomy. Thanks for the pick me up as well as some medical encouragement that nursing is still a good thing and medicine is still a passion.

-a package of goodies and meals from mom that came with Ash. that'll keep me fed good for at least a few days!

-a text from my dear friend J. Love and the anticipation it brought.

-Chit chat/catch up/vent with Channy

-the joy of hearing people honk and stare at Cyndi's car as she drove around with it still decorated (for her birthday) all day Friday.

-pumpkin blizzard courtesy of melissa

-heart to hearts with Cyndi in Walmart parking lot

-kitchen dance party to Nsync while Jordan sews a sweater repair all the while blinds being totally open. it was awesomeness.

Thanks ya'll : ) I really needed it. It's the little things that count.

DRMC L&D

I finished my last Dixie regional clinicals of the semester this past weekend which means no more waking up and driving to clinicals at 4:30 in the morning (YAY!!!). Although I still have clinicals Mondays and Tuesdays they are more close to home but I can't help but think they'll be a little boring. thank you to Dixie's labor and delivery for being so accepting of me as student and letting me get involved and learn hands on. I've always been interested in this field and now even more so after such a positive experience. You guys were awesome!! way to know your stuff seriously.
I learned so much from these clinicals but the one thing I'll never forget is how much harder it is to put a catheter in a pregnant lady, tough stuff right there! (sorry if TMI for all you non medical peeps)

Just a few things on the brain today:
I'm really really homesick lately so homesick that when ash told me today that their trip down in two weeks got cancelled I teared up, lame but knowing I don't get to go home until November is killing me, I'd love to just pack up and drive there and see my fam but I guess I'll keep waiting...

My gym pass ends on Sunday. I've gone to golds for the past 2 years and since I'm not working anymore I didn't renew my membership. At my last Zumba night last night I realized how sad I am. crazy cause someone who dreaded working out as much as I did when I first signed up, and now being sad to leave. Crazy how losing the littlest things can make you grateful for what you have or in my case had. So long golds, it's been a good run. sorry for such a love hate relationship : )

I graduate in May. My grad papers are submitted. My cap and gown paid for. Diploma fee paid. I get nausea every time I think about it. Although grateful to not be tied down to Cedar after graduation like some of my married friends waiting for their husbands to graduate, it turns out trying to decide where to go alone is really freaky thought and really stressful.

I'm going to Vegas for the weekend. I can't wait for a much needed break and vacation. and after all the rain we've had this week hopefully lots of sunshine and warmth.

I've loved college. Not a day goes by that I regret doing this. I wouldn't trade the friends I've made, the memories had, or the lessons learned for anything!

Grey's anatomy is on tonight. (deja vu....seems I only blog on Thursdays since I always mention grey's)

I'm a pretty messed up girl : ) who'd think that I have as many mental issues as I do.... crazy how your mind can have so much power isn't it??

Life is great. Life is funny. Seems like my life has more funny moments than others but I love it, wouldn't like it any other way.

birfday

Happy 21st Birthday to My Bestie Jacqui!!!

Funny story: Jacqui and I attended the same high school, not too weird, weird thing is that we weren't friends in high school. It took moving to cedar city and her living my fellow co-worker to make the connection that we knew of each other and much later after discovered that we were supposed to be best friends. Obviously took a lot of convincing her seeing as how we didn't become best friends until a little over a year ago.

Throughout the past few years we've had lots of adventures, been on lots of drives, had a plethora of dance parties & model walk offs, countless laughing fits, photo shoots, drive bys : ) , toilet times, movie making, illegal moments, walmart trips, FB stalking, deep talks, pranks on others, and genius moments together.

Jacqui is such an amazing person with exceptional qualities: She's a person I can always count on to listen to me gripe and whine about mundane things, as well as give great advice to my whining. She's always up for being physical and emotional support as well as always up for doing anything fun and random. She makes me laugh like crazy. She's my partner in crime and mischief. Biggest sweet tooth! She creates the best awkward moments that make people stir in their seats. She's always positive and happy even when she has every right not to be. She finds humor in anything. She's a leaping gazell when it comes to hiking. Amazing singer. A fabulous photographer. Gorgeous!! Nature and animal lover/protector. She's a little kid at heart and finds joy in things like hula hooping and Disney channel. She knows more celebrity gossip than anyone I know. and did i mention that she's the biggest country music fan. : )

enjoy a blast from the past.....

Pardon the photo overload but we've really had the greatest adventures! Love you so much Kobe : )
PS. I failed to mention that this young lady is taking an 18month absence. that's right she got her mission call and is going to Santiago East Chile Mission speaking Spanish and she leaves December 1st. I'm going to miss you SOOOO much Jac but I couldn't be more proud of you and I'm excited to hear about the people that need you over there.

seattle grace

I love grey's for many reasons but one of them particularly being there amazing quotes saying things like:
"If she's going through her worse right now then I wanna go through it with her."

"Derek may be my husband but you are my soulmate" (two best friends speaking)

"let me be your glue and tape"

I love you grey's. I love you avery. I love you unrealistic medical tv. I love you relationship drama. thanks for the one hour brain break a week : )

until next thursday...
