Dear Lord,
In the past year you have taken away my favorite actor (Patrick Swayze), my favorite actress (Farah Fawcett), my favorite musician (Michael Jackson) and my favorite salesperson (Billy Mays). Just wanted to let you know my favorite president is Barack Obama...

for a reason
My nursing class is full of quite the characters, 20 people, we range from all different ages 20-45, 17 females, 3 males, and many multiple personality types (with the most common type A). Four of us actually all worked at emerald pointe together for almost 2 years before getting accepted into the program. All 20 come from different backgrounds, towns, and reasons for wanting to be a nurse, however I know that we were all put together for a reason. I couldn't imagine being stuck with any other people in such a close setting for 2 years. We're a competitive class, our professors have had to quit classroom games because we get so out of hand, but in the end we're all in it together and have each others backs through it all....well most of us anyways : )
There are some people in this class that I wouldn't survive without:
Daddy Daron-one of my buddies from the beginning and has taken on the father figure role of lookin out for me whether it be protecting me in the behavioral med unit down to making sure I get all the papers that are passed out in class. Not only that but he keeps me entertained by cracking inappropriate jokes at just the needed moment to keep my awake.
Julia-I met Julia my first year at SUU when we sat by each other in Chemistry, she ended up dropping the class but when we had to pick clinical partners last semester we knew that we would get along great and we sure did. I must admit not being her partner this semester makes me miss her go get attitude in the hospital setting. She has taught me so much not only about nursing but about life and is so fun to be around and talk to!
Cyndi Loo Who-My second mother...well kinda. Cyndi is the oldest in our class but with her spunky personality I never would have guessed. She has set such a great example to me of how to be a strong women and how to fight for what you deserve and for what you want. Plus, her sense of humor gets along just great with mine.
Cy-where do I start!! Cy and I met 3 years ago when I was assigned to follow her and train with her my first shift at emerald pointe and we've been friends ever since. She's awesome!! Plus she's also helped me out in times like when I'm stranded home alone on holidays and she lets me stay at her house with her and her family : ) She's become an older sister to me, who can make me laugh and not to mention she has a story for everything! love ya Cy!
James James James-The tease. The good kind of older brother keep you on your toes kinda tease. However, it's hilarious that he thinks I'm easily offended because he is always so quick to apologize. He's great though, and his allergies to everything comes in handy to break the tension in the room or helps ease the stress by sneezing in the middle.
My single sisters forever Melissa and Jessica- I love these two!! I always get uncontrollable laughter around them, because they have a way with finding humor in everything about life even the bad things. and when everyone else in our class is complaining about marriages and babies and children and all those other adult responsibilities we're not ready for we have each other to go to and celebrate our singleness and the enjoyment we have in it only having to worry about number 1 : )
Basically, the 20 of us are stuck together for 2 years and pretty much everyday and every hour of those two years, seeing each other at their stressed out pissed off worst, but yet knowing each other so well by now that we know just how to cheer each other up. Thank you guys for being there and for being understanding of what I'm going through, especially this semester. And to quote high school musical again..."we're all this together!!"

this is happiness...

I love love love coke! It makes my day and keeps me headache free : ) however I'm sad to say that I'm in the process of switching to diet. Inspired by Ash making the switch and the idea that I'll still have my own real teeth in my mouth in 5 years. It's actually not too bad if you pimp it out with cherry, lemons, or limes. But as for now I'm weaning off slowly...

sick day
I woke up sick yesterday morning, convulsing with a fever, massive headache, sore throat, and not to forget some GI disturbances(thank you for that nursing school, I love saying that!) okay okay I'll give you my famous self diagnosis...Sinus infection. I heavily medicated myself and slept for hours and hours yesterday. Today, still not feeling 100% I braced myself to go sit through my 4 hour lecture determined to get something out of it, then halfway through the quiz two people puked (gross) so I excused myself from class not wanting to catch anything else and took a sick day. Laying in bed + more medicine + napping + Chick flicks + hanging out in my warm pajamas = not too bad of a sick day. But since laughter really is the best medicine here's a few treats from Ash and I's photo shoot two weeks ago...

hidden secret
My clinicals this week were at same day surgery in Dixie and even though I got sick and wasn't able to go my second day(whole other story) I was still able to discover the hospitals best kept secret: surgeons, scrub techs, and anesthesiologists= hottest men ever in the hospital!! and they are keeping them all hidden back there behind sterile doors. Needless to say I felt like I had died and gone to heaven watching them go back and forth all day! although now that I think about it, relate it to greys anatomy and makes total sense.
McDreamy
Korev
And can't forget about sexy new comer Avery : )

Now do I need to explain anymore why I love this show?! there's just something about a man in scrubs : ) so now ya know, next time your in the hospital and have a spare minute...sneak yourself back into the OR to get a look for yourself.

No Big Deal
I met Kyle Korver!! I know what you're thinking..."that sexy, young, Jazz player that looks like Ashton Kutcher??" and the answer is yes. Turns out Kyle's younger brother Kirk gets as much publicity as his brother because there was an article in a local newspaper about how the UMKC team SUU was scheduled to play one Saturday night had Kirk as a player. Anyways...I remembered this and as we were watching the girls game my friends and I began scoping out the other teams players and with a little investigation and questioning from some teammates we found him!!!
Sooo cute right?? looked just like his brother and so naturally we were ecstatic! Steph then mentions "Dude! what if Kyle came to watch his little brother play while he's playing in Utah??" "Nah, like he would come to SUU" little did we know a few moments later... a crowd starts building on the other side of the arena, look a little closer and sure enough KYLE KORVER IS IN THE HOUSE!! without thinking we grab the camera and take off running to meet him. I must admit in real life his little brother took the attractive award. Sorry Kyle, no offense.
Kirk is a lot younger so naturally farther away from the NBA, but still a pretty good ball player! at least he's got his looks going for him until he gets there : )
great times here in SUU's Centrum!!!

blah. blah. blah.
1.My brain HURTS! I never thought it was physically possible to have actual brain pain instead of just "headaches" but then I started nursing school. Today I blame my brain pain on the 2 tests I took today.
2.I get to go home tomorrow and I can't wait!! it's only been a month and a half since I've been home but my friends and I decided that it feels like so much longer when you're far away, so I'm not just being a home sick wuss, it's a legit college student thing : )
3. Channy and I have decided we're going to start telling people we are twins, why not right? Saves us having to explain to them that no we're close in age and just look alike.Think we could pull it off??
funny story about this idea...a couple weeks ago while I was in St. George we ate at Texas Roadhouse and told them it was our birthday and we were twins. They not only believed us but made us both jump on the saddle.

4. I've started exercising again, I tend to go through these spurts of physical fitness. okay lets' be honest these spurts are like months apart but still this week I've gotten back into it and realized how good it makes me feel(besides the whole being sore part)
5. The Saints won the Superbowl, and yes I was pissed with this result!! However I must say that with a certain play they made(if you watched it you should know what I'm talking about) they deserved it. In honor of the event my friends and I decided we would have an all girls party, and it was probably funner, louder, and more obnoxious than any co-ed party held that day.
Love ya Ladies!
6. I have many addictions and Grey's anatomy is one of them. I love that show! There's something about that show that gets me excited about being a nurse one day and just makes me wanna get out there and save some lives already!! haha. but seriously SOOOOO good, and it's on tonight. ABC 8 pm sharp- be there or be square.
7. I have AMAZING roommates! Brookie and Kobe(hehe) you guys are the best!

8. Apartments are being broken into, specifically ones within my ward boundaries. Great! just when I think I finally feel safe here in lil ol Cedar City....
9. Life is great! and despite my everyday stress levels, and insanely weird periods where I could just break down and cry from wanting to quit school so badly I am so happy! I love where I'm at right now and wouldn't change a thing.

Stewart...
Meet my new car pet Stewart-

Two Sundays ago I was enjoying a leisurely drive to St. George on my way to stay at Channy's apartment before clinicals the following Monday morning when I noticed something scamper across inside the hood of my car! Naturally I leaned in closer to get a better look when Stewart looked up and stared me in the eyes. I screamed of course, and immediately called Jacqui following in the car behind telling her that I needed to pull off because there was a mouse in my car(probably a lot more dramatic than that). Of course no one believed me until I popped my hood and sure enough there was Stewart a MOUSE. luckily enough we roused him out with my snow scraper but since Brook and Jacqui wouldn't let me kill his little guts right on the spot he disappeared somewhere behind my tire and hasn't been seen since! I am certain that he crawled right back up into his little home aka my engine and sneaks inside my car every once in a while to pick up on all the crumbs I leave behind and to stay warm in this cedar city weather and brushes me ankle on his way back home! (even though I secretly hope I ran him over)
I guess I had a wrong perception about pets, cause turns out not all pets are ones you ask for : )
